The U.S. Drought Monitor for the week ending June 20 showed the Midwest mostly favorable after heavy rain eased drought, especially in Kentucky. The High Plains continued to struggle with dry conditions for winter wheat and rangeland.
USDA reported 68% of corn and 66% of soybeans rated good to excellent on June 21.
Favorable Midwest moisture and strong crop ratings point to ample corn and soybean supply, which is bearish for feed grain and meal prices. Dryness in the High Plains could tighten hard red winter wheat supplies and support wheat feed values.
