USDA's weekly Crop Progress report showed national corn condition ratings unchanged at 57% good to excellent, while soybean ratings declined for a fourth straight week. The Pro Farmer Crop Condition Index for corn fell 1.6 points on hot, dry weather in the Dakotas and lower Midwest.
Falling soybean conditions point to lower expected yields, which supports soybean and meal prices. The corn decline is modest, so the corn impact is limited.
