USDA's September 10 WASDE raised the US corn yield to 176.3 bushels per acre and planted acres to 93.3 million, lifting production 246 million bushels to 14.99 billion. Soybean yield was raised to 50.6 bushels per acre while planted acres were cut to 87.2 million.
A larger US corn crop and higher soybean yields point to ample supplies and pressure on feed grain and meal prices.
