Grain markets closed the second week of December higher after the US and China agreed to terms of a phase one trade deal. Prices were also supported by higher soybean and corn prices in South America, while the December WASDE brought few changes.
Reduced US-China tariffs and a $40 billion ag purchase commitment improve export outlooks for US grains. Strength in South American markets adds support by tightening global competitive supply.
