Trade talks at the G-20 produced a 90-day pause on new US and Chinese tariffs. China's statement did not specify which goods it would buy or the timeframe, and its 25% tariff on US soybeans remains in place.
Because Chinese duties on US soybeans stay in force, US beans remain uncompetitive against Brazilian supply, which limits upside in CBOT prices until those tariffs are lifted.
