Irish harvest progress has been slow and intermittent because of broken weather, after a difficult winter and late-spring drought. Grain and straw yields in some areas fell as much as 70% on last season, most severely from Kilkenny through the midlands and into the northeast.
Green harvest prices were about €140-150/t for barley and €158-162/t for wheat.
Sharp yield losses in Ireland tighten local barley and wheat supply, which supports feed grain prices for Irish buyers. Prices remain tied to international maize markets and UK barley output.
