India may reimpose broken rice export curbs as prices pass $360/t

India may curb broken rice exports. The Indian Rice Exporters' Federation warns New Delhi could bring back export limits on 100% broken rice.

Why now? Prices passed $360 a tonne. International prices have crossed $360 per tonne. At home, ethanol makers and poultry-feed makers want more rice.

Nothing is announced yet. No new curbs have been announced. Until India decides, the risk shows up as a price premium, not lost supply.

What it means for feed buyers. If curbs return, a large share of world rice supply would come off the market and feed-grain costs for poultry and livestock could rise.
