The ECB kept its key interest rates unchanged at its 9 March 2017 meeting and confirmed asset purchases of €80 billion per month until end-March, falling to €60 billion from April. Draghi said the bank still expects rates to stay at present or lower levels for an extended period.
Ongoing ECB easing keeps the euro under pressure relative to the dollar, which supports euro-zone demand for dollar-priced feed ingredients and lowers the cost of imports priced in euros.
