Pacific National freight train drivers began a 48-hour strike in protest at a proposed enterprise agreement that would cut pay by up to $19,000 a year. The company responded by locking out workers for the full week, halting transport of Victoria's record grain crop.
The union says the new terms would also extend travel distances and conditions.
