Teamsters-represented port and rail drivers at XPO Cartage began an unfair labor practice strike, picketing XPO facilities in Commerce, Rancho Dominguez and San Diego as well as the Los Angeles/Long Beach ports and the ICTF rail yard. The union alleges drivers were misclassified as independent contractors and faced retaliation after filing wage-theft claims.
The strike targets the same port and rail operations as the logistics disruption and could slow intermodal flows from West Coast ports, modestly affecting freight costs for agricultural exports; the effect on feed commodity prices should be limited.
