Hot, dry weather in North America is lending some strength to oat prices, but large old-crop supplies and limited end-user demand are restraining gains. Canadian farmers seeded 3.22 million acres of oats this spring, about 200,000 acres below earlier expectations.
Smaller-than-expected acreage and weather risk underpin new-crop oat cash prices, though filled end-user books cap near-term upside.
