The Australian dollar closed the prior week above the 67-68 cent range, reaching 0.6856 on a broad US dollar weakness driven by Brexit deal hopes. RBA Governor Lowe said negative rates were extraordinarily unlikely.
The US dollar index closed at 97.14, its lowest level since early 2018.
Broad US dollar weakness tends to support dollar-denominated commodity prices, while a firmer Aussie reduces Australian export competitiveness. The effect on feed markets is modest.
