Malaysian palm oil futures hit a one-month low in the week to September 29 as soybean oil on CBOT weakened. Palm oil exports for September 1 to 25 rose 16 to 27 per cent according to inspection agencies, and the US EPA proposed cutting biodiesel blending requirements.
A proposed cut in US biodiesel mandates reduces demand for vegetable oil feedstocks, while strong export inspections are supportive but insufficient to offset the bearish trend.
