The US dollar index weakened on Tuesday as markets raised expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut rates this year to offset economic damage from China's coronavirus outbreak. FedWatch showed a 78.3% chance of a cut by June.
The 10-year Treasury yield hit an all-time low.
Lower US rate expectations weaken the dollar, which supports dollar-denominated grain and oilseed prices and can lift export competitiveness for US commodities. Risk-off flows also pressure broader commodity demand.
