The dollar index fell to its lowest level in a week after softer US consumer price data eased inflation fears. World shares rose to multi-week highs and Treasury yields eased from a recent spike.
Attention then turned to the ECB policy meeting.
Lower US yields and reduced inflation worries weaken the dollar and bring a mild risk-on tone to markets. A softer dollar can modestly support dollar-priced commodity demand.
