The European Palm Oil Alliance published a position paper backing EU-wide regulatory measures to make deforestation-free palm oil the norm in Europe. It notes that 83% of palm oil imported for food by European refiners in 2018 was certified sustainable.
The group calls for due-diligence obligations applied equally to all vegetable oils.
