The rupiah strengthened 0.71% to Rp14,268 per dollar on August 31, 2021, supported by a weaker dollar after Fed tapering signals. Foreign-exchange analysts said the government bond auction, which drew strong bids, also supported the currency ahead of Indonesia's August inflation data.
