The Rice Exporters Association expects India's non-basmati rice exports in 2022 may not match 2021 levels because major rice producers had good crops this year. Indian rice prices have fallen about $10 per tonne from October as new-crop arrivals in Asia increase.
Expected lower Indian export demand and softer Asian rice prices point to weaker rice pricing. Reduced dependence on Indian supply from importers like Bangladesh and Vietnam would reinforce that pressure.
