China and the Philippines suspended imports of Canadian beef after Canada detected an atypical BSE case in an 8.5-year-old cow in Alberta in December. South Korea had already suspended imports the previous month.
Canadian cattle industry officials expect the suspensions to be short and said there has been no noticeable price impact yet.
