Bangladesh's government approved importing 40,000 tonnes of DAP from Morocco's OCP Group at $1,775 per tonne, up from the previously set $874 per tonne. The purchase follows disruption to Eastern European supply from the Russia-Ukraine war, and Peru has also said it plans to buy Moroccan fertilisers.
Importers turning to Morocco at sharply higher prices show tight global phosphate supply and support DAP price levels. Feed buyers face higher costs for phosphate-based inputs as Asian and Latin American governments compete for supply.
