Global central banks are raising rates aggressively to fight inflation, with the Fed delivering a 75 basis point hike in July for a cumulative 150 basis points in June and July. The European Central Bank raised rates for the first time in 11 years, and emerging-market central banks have added 4,415 basis points year to date.
Tighter global monetary policy strengthens the dollar and raises financing costs, which tends to pressure emerging-market currencies and commodity prices and adds cost pressure to imported feed.
