A CUSMA trade dispute panel rescinded an invitation for Canadian NGOs to submit comments in the U.S. challenge to Mexico's GM corn ban. The Canadian Biotechnology Action Network and the Council of Canadians had been granted standing before the invitation was withdrawn at the request of the U.S. and Canadian governments.
Procedural limits on the panel do not change the core question of whether Mexico's GM corn ban holds, which keeps uncertainty over U.S. corn export demand.
