Commodity markets fell last week as the US dollar strengthened on expectations that the Fed may cut rates later than other central banks. The Fed held its policy rate at 5.25% to 5.50%, and the Swiss National Bank cut its rate to 1.50%.
A firmer dollar makes dollar-priced commodities more expensive for foreign buyers, which pressures prices. For feed markets the effect is indirect and modest.
