The rupee was expected to fall further after a rise in U.S. Treasury yields lifted the dollar index to a two-week high. Two weak U.S. debt auctions raised concerns about demand, and the 10-year yield rose 16 basis points over two sessions.
Higher U.S. yields strengthen the dollar and pressure emerging-market currencies, raising the local cost of dollar-denominated feed imports. The effect on feed prices is modest.
