UK oat supply from the 2023 harvest was tight, with production at an estimated 830,000t, the smallest since 2016, so most of the crop went to milling rather than feed. UK oat exports ran well ahead of the five-year average through winter, and the AHDB expected exports of 105,000t this season.
A small domestic crop and strong milling demand leave feed buyers competing for limited oats, supporting feed oat values in the UK.
