USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that Mexico committed to lift restrictions on USDA aircraft used in screwworm eradication and to waive customs duties on eradication equipment. Live animal ports will stay open, but USDA said it would revisit closure if the terms are not upheld.
Removing the threat of a port closure keeps Mexican feeder cattle supply flowing into the US, which eases the tight-supply support for cattle prices.
