The dollar index hovered near a one-week low around 99.60 as markets priced in a December Fed rate cut. Comments from Fed officials John Williams, Mary Daly and Christopher Waller signalled the central bank was prepared to ease further if inflation keeps falling.
Expectations of a managed easing cycle weaken the dollar, which can support dollar-priced commodities and make US exports more competitive.
