India's Solvent Extractors' Association reported December oilmeal exports fell about 40% year on year to 240,900 tonnes, with soymeal exports down 59% to 114,697 tonnes. Apr-Dec soymeal exports were down 16% year on year to 1.25 million tonnes amid uncompetitive prices and tepid domestic demand.
Lower Indian meal exports remove supply from world markets, which is mildly supportive for other origins. Weak Indian competitiveness means Indian meal is less of a price threat to Brazilian and Argentine offers.
