Indonesia's palm oil exports are projected to fall by about 2 million tonnes in 2024 as domestic biodiesel consumption rises under a higher blending mandate. Domestic consumption is forecast to reach a record 24.2 million tonnes, while production is expected to drop by 1 million tonnes.
First-half exports were already down 7.6% year on year.
Tighter export availability from the largest producer supports palm oil and soyoil prices, as more feedstock is absorbed by the domestic biodiesel programme.
