Malaysia's Plantation and Commodities Minister says the B15 biodiesel blend in Peninsular Malaysia, starting June 1, will not reduce palm oil exports. She cites a surplus of about 4 million tonnes, of which B15 needs only about 0.8 million tonnes.
The government's assurance that exports are unaffected limits the expected supply tightening from Malaysian biodiesel use, so the price effect should be modest.
