Clean Fuels Alliance America and Iowa and Missouri soybean groups welcomed the May letter from three Midwest governors urging higher RFS volumes for 2023-25. The letter says EPA's proposed volumes are below 3 billion gallons of biobased diesel output and that EPA is expected to finalize by June 14.
The groups say their members have invested heavily in growth.
Industry support for higher RFS volumes reinforces expectations of stronger soybean oil demand if the EPA raises mandates. The statement adds to pressure on the final rule but does not itself change supply.
