Argentina's 2022-23 soybean crop is now estimated at 21.25 million tonnes by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, a further downward revision. The estimate sits 3.75 million tonnes below the USDA's official July WASDE projection, as drought lowered yields.
Crush, domestic consumption and ending stocks were all cut.
A smaller Argentine crop reduces crush and meal output from a major exporter, tightening global soybean meal supply and supporting prices. Expected rebound in 2023-24 limits the longer-term impact.
