Global rice prices have fallen to their lowest level since 2008, according to Thai Rice Exporters Association data. The decline follows India's decision to relax some export restrictions after assessing domestic output.
Thai white rice 5% broken dropped to $509 a ton.
The price fall reflects returning Indian export supply after the restrictions were eased. Continued downward pressure on rice values is bearish for the rice complex.
