The Federal Reserve raised its target rate by 25 basis points to 0.75-1.00%, as widely expected, and said further increases would be gradual. The dollar index fell to a three-week low of 100.510 and US government bonds had their biggest rally in about nine months.
Chair Janet Yellen kept projections of two more hikes in 2017 and three in 2018.
A weaker dollar tends to support dollar-priced commodities such as grains and oilseeds, while the gradual tightening path limits pressure on borrowing costs for feed and livestock operators.
