USDA's monthly supply-demand report projected higher US milk output, cheese and milk prices for 2018 than for 2017. It cut 2017 milk output to a record 216.9 billion pounds and raised 2018 output to 222.0 billion pounds on stronger milk prices and moderate feed costs.
Higher projected 2018 milk output and exports point to a more ample dairy supply, which caps price gains even as prices are expected to firm.
