Texas A&M AgriLife experts say corn and sorghum fields across Texas look good despite weeks of dry weather. Corn and sorghum acreage in the High Plains is down this year as growers shift to cotton, which is about 15 cents per pound higher than last year.
Lower High Plains corn and sorghum acreage tightens the outlook for those crops, but good crop condition offsets much of the concern about drought.
