DDG domestic prices climbed further, supported by a surge in corn after USDA estimated 2018 US corn plantings at 88.0 million acres, below the 90.2 million of a year earlier and under expectations. Logistical issues at the Gulf pushed export prices higher, and the average DDG spot price reached $159 for the week ended March 29.
The USDA acreage figure below expectations lifted corn and DDG values together. Gulf logistics bottlenecks add cost to export shipments and support higher prices.
