U.S. distillers grains exports totaled 11.88 million metric tons in 2018, the second-highest on record, with about 31 percent of production shipped to 50 countries. Mexico, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey were the top destinations.
Exports to China fell further after duties were imposed, ranking 17th at 2 percent of the total.
Strong export demand for DDGS supports feed-ingredient prices for buyers in Mexico and Southeast Asia, while China's continued closure tightens the outlet for U.S. co-products and keeps supply domestic.
