Indonesia's chief economic minister said the government plans to raise palm oil export levies, currently capped at US$50 per tonne, to fund expansion of its palm biodiesel program. The move is linked to the planned B30 mandate, which is projected to raise domestic CPO use by about 3 million tonnes.
Higher export levies and a larger domestic biodiesel mandate would divert palm oil from export markets, tightening global supply and supporting international prices. Feed buyers should expect firmer palm oil costs if the levy increase and B30 proceed.
