OCP remained the world's largest exporter of raw phosphate and phosphoric acid in 2019, though its raw phosphate market share fell from 38% to 34%. Raw phosphate exports dropped from 11 million to 9.5 million tons, partly due to lower North American orders after Nutrien closed plants.
Lower Moroccan export volumes and a shrinking market share point to tighter phosphate supply from the largest exporter, modestly supportive of phosphate prices. The effect is mostly on fertilizer markets.
