Mosaic has petitioned the US Department of Commerce and ITC for countervailing duty investigations into phosphate fertilizer imports from Morocco and Russia, alleging government subsidies. Morocco and Russia were leading DAP and MAP exporters in January to April 2020.
The petition follows a Mosaic press release dated June 26.
If duties are imposed, US phosphate import costs would rise, supporting domestic DAP and MAP prices and tightening availability for US fertilizer buyers.
