ABARES estimates Australia's 2020/21 wheat production at 26.6Mt, up 11.5Mt year on year, driven by recovery in yield and area after drought. Australia is expected to export around 65% of its wheat, about 17.0Mt, and 4.2Mt of barley, leaving a large exportable surplus.
The same note reports US maize plantings cut 2Mha to 37.2Mha in the USDA acreage report.
