FranceAgriMer reported that French farmers had sown 76% of the expected soft wheat area by Nov. 2, up from 66% a week earlier.
Sowing is ahead of last year and in line with the five-year average, and winter barley sowing reached 87%.
Sowing progress that is on pace with recent years points to a normal French wheat crop, so it has little direct effect on prices.
