Infosawit reports that Indonesia's Finance Ministry adjusted palm oil export tariffs to a referential-price structure under RMF 191/PMK.05/2020, effective December 10, 2020. The policy is to be reviewed monthly, with the stated aim of supporting replanting and biodiesel mandates.
Tariffs linked to reference prices reduce the export incentive when prices are high, which can redirect supply toward the domestic biodiesel program and support palm oil prices.
