Asia has become the dominant global buyer of LNG and its pricing is increasingly setting European natural gas market levels. Freezing winter temperatures sent LNG tankers to Asia, lifting European prices, and those levels are now easing as LNG supplies return to Europe.
Feed buyers exposed to gas-linked nitrogen fertilizer and energy costs face shifting input prices as LNG flows redirect; the easing European gas price reduces cost pressure somewhat.
