The US dollar rose to 2021 highs after hot US inflation data. Rates moves, especially at the short end, pointed to traders expecting the Federal Reserve to hike rates if prices kept rising.
A stronger dollar makes dollar-priced feed ingredients and grains more expensive for importers, which can weigh on export demand and prices. Higher rate expectations also tighten financing for buyers and holders of stocks.
