Ukraine exported about 690 thousand tons of sunflower oil in December 2021, up 16% year on year, with India and the EU the main buyers. Sunflower meal exports fell to 454 thousand tons from 631 thousand a year earlier, attributed to logistical problems that built up stocks.
Lower Ukrainian sunflower meal exports tighten meal supply to export markets, supporting meal prices, while strong oil exports keep vegetable oil prices firm.
