The EIA's average US on-highway diesel price held at $3.806 a gallon in the week released July 17, the first unchanged reading since April 2021. Prices rose in seven of ten EIA regions and fell in three.
The national average is $1.626 below the level of a year earlier.
A flat diesel price keeps freight and fuel surcharge costs stable for feed buyers. The year-on-year decline means logistics costs are well below 2022 levels, so the price impact is limited.
