Vietnamese experts expect the US dollar to weaken in 2024 as the US economy achieves a soft landing and the Federal Reserve begins cutting rates, possibly as early as March. They say this would ease inflation pressure on Vietnam and stabilise the dong.
Expectations of a weaker dollar and easing dong pressure would lower local import costs for feed ingredients priced in dollars, though the outlook depends on Fed timing.
