Trase research published May 29 finds EU imports of agricultural commodities continue to drive substantial global deforestation, mainly through cocoa and oil palm. It shows large differences between EU countries in deforestation exposure as they prepare for the EUDR.
Concentrated exposure of EU member states to palm oil and soy-linked deforestation signals where compliance pressure will bite hardest, influencing future EU sourcing of these oils and meals.
